JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes may not be engaged, but they have already agreed on one big detail: the ring. The couple independently picked out the exact same engagement ring design, without either of them knowing what the other had chosen.
Siwa, 23, shared the story with People at the Industry Dance Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 21, and the coincidence has fans convinced the pair are on the same wavelength about their future.
The dinner-table reveal
Siwa explained that she had previously told her mother, Jessalyn Siwa, that she wanted Hughes to design her engagement ring himself if he ever proposed. She wanted the choice to be completely his own.
At the same time, she had also searched Google and found a photo of what she considered her dream engagement ring. During a dinner with Hughes, 33, she decided to ask him what he thought her perfect ring would look like. The couple agreed to show each other their choices at the same time, without knowing what the other had picked.
“One, two, three. And we flipped it. And we were holding the same photo from Google!” Siwa told the outlet. She described the design as having a blue, emerald-shaped stone, and said the odds of them choosing the same ring were very slim.
No engagement — yet
Despite all the engagement talk, Siwa and Hughes have not announced that they are engaged. The matching ring moment was a shared daydream, not a proposal — and Siwa was careful to keep that distinction clear.
She did, however, share a glowing relationship update, revealing that things between them are going “great” and that they are approaching their year-and-a-half anniversary. For a couple that has lived much of its romance in the public eye, the update struck fans as a sign of how steady things have become.
From Celebrity Big Brother to wedding fever
Siwa and Hughes first met while competing on Celebrity Big Brother UK in April 2025. Their friendship eventually turned romantic, and they confirmed their relationship that June.
The couple has been open about the possibility of marriage. Earlier this year, Siwa admitted she had wedding fever after attending her brother’s wedding, saying she would be ready to get married whenever Hughes felt the time was right. She also previously revealed that her song “Serendipity” was inspired by her unexpected romance with Hughes.
Whether a proposal is on the horizon remains to be seen. But if Hughes ever does pop the question, it seems he already knows exactly which ring to pick — because he picked it himself.
