Heidi Klum has started the countdown to her most famous night of the year. The supermodel, 53, shared a cryptic teaser for her 2026 Halloween costume on Instagram, giving fans a close-up look at what appears to be an elaborate prosthetic — without revealing what it actually is.

The post arrived one week before Klum’s annual Halloween party in New York, an event that has become one of the most anticipated celebrity costume reveals of the year.

A cryptic close-up and a fabric-store run

In the teaser, Klum posted a tight close-up of an apparent prosthetic piece, paired with a playful caption asking followers to guess what her costume will be. She followed it up on Instagram Stories with a video of herself browsing the aisles of a fabric store, hunting for materials for the look.

True to form, Klum gave nothing away. The close-up is cropped so tightly that it is impossible to tell what character or creature she is building toward — which, for her fans, is exactly the point. Speculation in the comments began immediately, with followers trading theories about what the prosthetic could become.

A “very bloody” promise for 2026

Klum had already set expectations high. Speaking to People in September, she said this year’s costume would be “very bloody,” a hint that has only fueled the guessing game since the teaser appeared.

That description stands in contrast to some of her more glamorous transformations, and suggests the 2026 look leans into horror. Whether the blood is part of a monster, a movie character or something entirely original remains to be seen when she steps out at the party.

A quarter-century of Halloween transformations

Klum has hosted her Halloween party since 2000, turning it into a showcase for some of the most ambitious celebrity costumes ever seen. At the 25th-anniversary party in 2025, she transformed into Medusa, complete with green scales and a long tail, while her husband, Tom Kaulitz, appeared as a Greek soldier turned to stone.

Past looks have included a worm, Princess Fiona from Shrek, a cadaver, and — in 2016 — an entire clone of herself, with several Klums arriving together. Each year, the costumes involve hours of prosthetics and makeup, and each year the reveal dominates social media the next morning.

If the teaser is any indication, the 2026 edition will keep that tradition alive. Fans will not have to wait long: the party is just a week away, and Klum’s full reveal is expected to follow her usual pattern of an arrival in full costume.
