Dame Helen Mirren added another honor to her long career this weekend, receiving an award at the 2026 SCAD Savannah Film Festival in Georgia. The actress attended the festival’s opening-night gala screening of her film A Talent for Murder, where an award presentation honored her work.

A special honor in Savannah

Mirren received the festival’s Legend of Entertainment Award at the 29th SCAD Savannah Film Festival, which runs October 24–31 in Savannah, Georgia. The festival opened with A Talent for Murder, putting Mirren’s latest project at the center of its opening night.

For the October 24 occasion, Mirren wore a pink Martin Grant gown with Bottega Veneta mules, a look that stood out on the festival’s opening night.

A busy week for Mirren

The Savannah honor capped a busy week for the actress. Just days earlier, on October 21, she attended the film’s New York premiere at AMC Lincoln Square Theater, where she wore a dramatic black tutu.

From New York to Savannah, the back-to-back appearances underline how active Mirren remains, moving between premieres and festival honors with her latest film.

For Mirren, the Savannah honor is the latest stop in a career spent moving between stage and screen, and the festival’s opening night put both the film and its star front and center.

What is A Talent for Murder

A Talent for Murder is the film at the center of Mirren’s festival week, with its New York premiere followed by the opening-night gala screening in Savannah. The festival’s decision to open with the film — and to honor its star on the same night — made Mirren the defining presence of the event’s first evening.

The film’s journey from its New York premiere to Savannah’s opening night gave Mirren two high-profile outings in a single week — first the tutu, then the pink gown — and both looks drew attention of their own.

The SCAD Savannah Film Festival is hosted by the Savannah College of Art and Design, and this year’s opening night belonged to Mirren.
